President’s letter May 2008

To Our Members:

I hope you all enjoyed the Patriot's Day celebrations here in the town where the first encounter between the British and the Colonial Rebels took place.  Several  of us had a wonderful time dancing and socializing at the Patriot's Ball.  It's more like a high school gymnasium dance than a "ball" so when it comes around again next year, don't be put off by the thought of a fancy ball, think fun dance crowd.

The club year is from September to September, with activities through June.  In keeping with the Club tradition, the Board met in late April to plan and ratify the incoming 08-09 Board.  Click here to see the 08-09 Board and see what positions are still open.

We would love to hear from people who are interested in getting to know other people in a deeper context.  Working on the Board gives you that opportunity.  This year we will be using committees where you can participate for a month or two, or just one event, as a way to contribute without a full year commitment.  Be on the lookout for future emails.  Please email Ann or Kathy  with questions or to volunteer.

For May we are having our Spring Fling on Saturday May 10th at 7 pm.  We are grateful to Liz Martineau and John McClellan for opening their home to the club.  This party signals the beginning of Spring and the wind down of CCNC's social events.  As May turns to June many of us will be busy with graduations and end of school year activities.  Some as fun as helping our children pack up their dorm rooms to come back home!  So before that all begins, let's get together again and enjoy one another's company with good food and great wine.  I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely yours,

Kathy
